Welcome! Nice to Meet You!

Hi there! My name is Meredith! I'm excited to welcome you to this new adventure of mine called blogging!

Let me share a little bit of my story with you all! I was born and raised in good ole' Missouri near the Gateway to the West (Bonus points if you know another name for this!) I grew up in a small, close-knit Italian family who consumes their fair share of Italian cuisine!

I recently graduated from college this past May with a Bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education. I knew deep down that my heart was missing the fourth grade, so I will be returning to the fourth grade but as the teacher this time around! I am over the moon excited for this upcoming adventure of my first year of teaching! If any of you have any tips or tricks, please do not hesitate to share them!

List of my Favorites:
Color: any shade of pink, which if you follow along in my blog you may soon realize 😂
Sport: Soccer
Book: The Book Thief
Movie: The Greatest Showman (Hi, Zac Efron! 💗😂)
Restaurant: Pasta House or The Cheesecake Factory
Food: Pasta!

When I began thinking about creating this blog, there were so many different avenues I wanted to take. I wanted to share about my student teaching experience to be a resource for those about to begin their own student teaching experience. I researched, or tried to research, before I started and I found that there wasn't a lot out there in regards to student teaching. It was almost like student teaching was a secret rite of passage to become a teacher, which in some sense it is but teaching is collaborative in its nature no matter what level you may be on. I wanted to also use this spot as a place to review books and share with one another books that have opened the world of reading up for our kiddos. I wanted this blog to be a gathering place where everyone knows they are supported and heard while collaborating with others to help benefit their students and themselves.

Once I took a step back from some of these ideas I realized that my main goal for my blog was to promote the fact that we never stop learning even as we hold the title of educator (classroom teacher, student teacher, speech language pathologist, etc.)

If anything, I hope you find at least one post that may create a connection to you and have you leave with a smile or a little more positivity in your heart as you continue learning and being the best educator you can be!

I look forward to getting to know each one of you!

~ Meredith
